According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Kurdistan, the "Smart Dual-Axis Solar Tracker" product, designed and built by Dr. Salah Veisi of the Department of Architecture, was recognized as one of the top and selected projects in the Information and Communication Technology section of the exhibition.
This technological achievement, which represented the University of Kurdistan at the national event held at the IRIB International Conference Center, garnered significant attention from officials, investors, and renewable energy experts. Following specialized evaluations, it secured a top position.
Significant Efficiency Gains with Smart Technology
Developed based on the innovative field of Civil-Mechatronics, this smart system independently moves solar panels along two axes: horizontal (Azimuth) and vertical (Elevation). This capability ensures that the panels are always positioned at the most precise angle (perpendicular to the sun's rays) throughout the day and across all seasons, thereby maximizing energy absorption.
From Lab to Reality: The Fourth Generation is on its Way
Based on successful field tests, the first through third generations of this device, manufactured by the "Teif Tav" company, have increased solar power generation efficiency by 40 to 50 percent. Dr. Veisi is currently developing and building the fourth generation of this technology, which promises even greater efficiency and optimization in the field.
