Specialized Meeting Between the Faculty of Art and Architecture (UOK), the Bijar Faculty of Engineering and Basic Sciences, and the Bijar Cultural Heritage Department

In this meeting, held at the Bijar Faculty of Engineering and Basic Sciences with the participation of Dr. Molanaei, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Architecture at the University of Kurdistan, and Mr. Elyasvand, Head of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department, Dr. Jafari, Dean of the Bijar Faculty, presented a comprehensive report on the general status and current challenges of the faculty. Subsequently, discussions were held regarding the development of academic programs aligned with the region's local potential.

Dr. Molanaei explained the philosophy behind satellite campuses as a means to develop academic fields suited to the specific conditions and potentials of various regions in the province. Highlighting the rich history of handicrafts such as carpets and kilims, as well as the historical sites and the Bijar protected area, he assessed the conditions as favorable for expanding Handicrafts programs and establishing an Archaeology department.

Mr. Elyasvand, Head of the Bijar Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department, outlined the existing resources in the province and various cities, expressing readiness for collaboration in developing fields related to cultural heritage and handicrafts at the University of Kurdistan.

Concluding the meeting, the Dean of the Bijar Faculty expressed gratitude for the visit and the diligent follow-up by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and the Head of the Cultural Heritage Department. He thanked them for their unwavering support and stated that preliminary studies and measures for the creation and development of the relevant fields have commenced.

Following the meeting, a tour was conducted of the faculty’s various departments and facilities, as well as the valuable handicrafts and historical carpets housed at the Cultural Heritage Department.
