Retired Faculty of the Department of Physics

Born in 1974 in Bijar, Professor Setareh earned his PhD in Particle Physics from Sharif University of Technology. Following his graduation, he joined the Department of Physics at the University of Kurdistan as a distinguished faculty member, specializing in Particle Physics and Field Theory. His illustrious academic career was marked by numerous prestigious accolades, including:

• First Prize at the Khwarizmi International Award (2001)

• Recognized as the National Top Researcher (2009)

• Designated as a Leading Scientist of the Islamic World in 2009 and 2025

• Author of 246 research articles indexed in ISI-web of science

• Listed among Iran's Leading Scientific Figures in 2019 and 2020

A Full Professor at the University of Kurdistan, Professor Setareh passed away in June 2022 following a tragic traffic accident. His scientific legacy continues to inspire the academic community.
