Appointment of Dr. Zoleikha Rasouli as a Faculty Member of the Department of Chemistry

Dr. Zoleikha Rasouli is an esteemed faculty member of the Department of Chemistry within the Faculty of Basic Sciences at the University of Kurdistan. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry in 2008 (1387), followed by her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Kurdistan in 2012 (1391) and 2017 (1396), respectively, specializing in Chemometrics. Chemometrics is an interdisciplinary field operating at the intersection of mathematical and chemical sciences. Dr. Rasouli also spent five years conducting advanced research as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Kurdistan. In terms of her educational background, she served as an adjunct lecturer within the Department of Chemistry for ten years.

Her research is primarily focused on advanced chemometrics methodologies, including artificial intelligence, multivariate curve resolution-alternating least squares (MCR-ALS), partial least squares (PLS), exploratory analysis and soft modeling, as well as pattern recognition and classification methods. Recently, her research interests have expanded into combining chemometric techniques with intelligent food packaging films. Her scientific works have been published in highly reputable international journals, such as Food Chemistry and the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (ranked in the top 10% of global scientific publications).
